ELMACON 2024, 24th Annual PIMS Elementary Math Contest - May 4th 2024
ELMACON 2024 will be held in the Earth Science and Swing buildings on UBC's Point Grey campus. The competition is separated by grade, students will take all three parts of the exam (sprint, target, and countdown) in the room assigned to their grade. Room assignments will appear below soon.
- Grade 5: Earth Science Building (ESB) 1013
- Grade 6: Swing Building 122 (1st floor) & 222 (2nd floor)
- Grade 7: Swing Building 122 (1st floor) & 222 (2nd floor)
Registration will take place in the Earth Science Building is on Main Mall, directly across from the whale skeleton (Beattie Biodiversity Museum). The nearest parkade for both buildings is West Parkade.
| 10:00am | Registration: Students should present their ticket at the registration desk for their grade.

| 10:15am-10:45am | Seating: Students taken to assigned seats. All students must be seated by 10:45.

| 10:45am-11:00am | Sprint Instructions: Opening Remarks and Instructions (no admission into the rooms during this time).
|
| 11:00am–11:50am | Sprint Round (50 minutes total for 26 questions).

| 11:50am-12:15pm | Restroom break
|
| 12:15pm–12:25pm | Target Round Instructions (no admission into the rooms during this time).
|
| 12:25pm–1:15pm | Target Round (3 sets of 4 questions with 15 minutes for each set).
|
| 1:15pm-2:45pm | Lunch Break: Please bring your own packed lunch. Please note, no food is allowed in the lecture rooms!.

| 2:45pm–3:00pm | Top 25 and Countdown: competitors announced.
